Alec Boriss

Owner & Mortgage Broker

Alec began his career in real estate finance in 1997, working as a loan officer for a small lender in Jacksonville. He soon headed a branch of a lender and by 2003 founded Oak Street Financial, Inc. with a lenders license and a license to make FHA and VA loans. With 23 years of experience he was able to keep his brokerage firm healthy through the economic downturn of 2008 and subsequent years. Today the firm has four very experienced loan originators.

Alec was born in Birmingham, Alabama and grew up in Miami, Florida. He secured a BA from Stetson University in 1967.

After graduation, he joined a steamship agency and stevedoring company and spent the next 35 years in that industry. He enjoyed senior executive positions with a number of shore-based service companies and eventually became the Executive Vice President of a well-respected container carrier serving Puerto Rico from Florida ports.

He was licensed as a real estate salesman in 1974, then Broker and actively sold property and managed real estate brokerage firms for three years in the late 1970s.

A lifelong sailor and boating enthusiast, he is an ASA sailing instructor and part time Captain for SeaTow of Jacksonville, Inc. He has been married since 1965 and has two daughters and four grandchildren.
